Hardwood Flooring Q & A

Hardwood is not generally recommended for areas with high moisture like bathrooms, but it can be suitable for kitchens if spills are cleaned up quickly.

Yes and no.  Engineered hardwood can be installed over concrete but an underlayment or moisture barrier glue is usually required.  Solid hardwood floooring cannot be installed over concrete.

Use a dry micro-fiber mop along with a hardwood-specific cleaner. Avoid using water, as it can damage the wood.  Never, ever use oils or soaps to clean hardwood.

Hardwood can be scratched by pet claws, so it’s important to keep your pet’s nails trimmed. Opt for a harder wood species like oak or hickory for better durability.

LVP Q & A

Yes, most LVP flooring is waterproof, making it suitable for bathrooms, kitchens, and basements.

LVP is highly durable and resistant to scratches, making it ideal for high-traffic areas and homes with pets.

LVP is relatively easy to install with a click-lock system, making it a good option for DIYers.

Most all luxury vinyl plank (LVP) floors have a locking system for floating installation which do have an underlayment attached so no more underlayment would be required.   LVP that doesn’t lock together will require  glue for installation and no underlayment would be needed.

Regular sweeping and occasional mopping with a mild cleaner are usually sufficient.

Carpet Q & A

We offer carpets made from nylon and polyester, which are the most durable and long lasting fibers available.  Our nylon products are conditioned to resist stains.

Carpet can trap allergens, so it may not be the best choice for those with severe allergies. However, regular cleaning can mitigate this issue.

It’s generally best to remove the existing flooring for the most secure and even carpet installation.

The best way to remove spills on carpet is to a clean cloth witha bit of warm water Dawn dish soap then bloche the stain with the cloth.  Do not rub the spilled area under any circumstance.  Take a dry cloth and soak up the water, then use a recommended carpet cleaning solution from the manufacturer and a clean cloth and again bloche the spill.  Vacuum the area repeat if necessary.  Always refer to the manufacturer’s recommended guidelines for cleaning.

Carpet tiles are easier to install and replace. They’re also more versatile in terms of design and pattern possibilities and resist stains which is why carpet tiles are used in high traffic areas.

Yes, many carpet tiles are designed to withstand the wear and tear of commercial settings.

Most carpet tiles can be vacuumed just like regular carpet. Individual tiles can also be removed for spot cleaning.

Most all carpet tiles do not use a carpet pad.  Each tile has a backing but it shouldn’t be confused with carpet pad which comes on it’s own roll and is for broadlume or rolled carpet.
